IBV presents the BERTHA project at AVIA’s Smart Mobility Conference
Last May 14th 2024, the Automotive and Mobility Cluster of the Valencian Region (AVIA) hosted the conference ‘Towards smart mobility: The potential of artificial intelligence’. The event, which took place at Las Naves innovation centre in Valencia, Spain, brought together different companies, research centres and technological institutes to share their projects on IA applied to mobility.
The conference started with an introduction to AI for sustainable mobility in smart cities, courtesy of the Valencian Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence (VRAIN). After this, the participants shared their respective success cases, including the BERTHA project.
José Solaz, Head of Innovation, Mobility and Smart Cities at Instituto de Biomecánica de Valencia (IBV), explained how the BERTHA project will develop a Driver Behavioural Model (DBM) to be incorporated into ADAS training software, to reduce the ‘time to market’ of these products. Thus, IBV’s work is the input to generate virtual drivers with a high degree of realism in their behaviour, through generative AI.
The other projects presented were VEKAI (by NUNSYS), NUTAI, EDINN, MEESBOOK, PERIFAI and SOPRASTERIA, all dealing with artificial intelligence and mobility.
