The 8th edition of the RTR Conference took place in Brussels from February 11th to 13th, featuring the BERTHA project. During the “Human centric CCAM and driver safety” session, Dr. José Solaz, Head of Innovation, Mobility, and Smart Cities at Instituto de Biomecánica de Valencia (IBV), presented the project and participated in panel discussions, alongside the other CCAM-related projects: AWARE2ALL, i4Driving, FITDRIVE, and PANACEA.

With human error still being a leading cause of road accidents, driver behavior is a major research focus. At the RTR 2025 event, several projects showcased their work on driver behavior models, driver fitness monitoring and assessment systems, as well as human-machine interfaces for CCAM systems. These initiatives all contribute to validating the safety of such systems and improving safety in and around vehicles, especially for vulnerable road users.

The RTR Conference is a key event showcasing the achievements of EU-funded projects in road transport, focusing on areas like green vehicles, urban mobility, logistics, intelligent transport systems, safety, and automated road transport. It brings together over 500 on-site and 400 online participants to discuss the latest research results and their impacts on the environment, economy, and European society.
