BERTHA Project Marks Two Years of Innovation at VEDECOM Facilities in Versailles

On October 16–17, 2025, the BERTHA consortium gathered at the VEDECOM facilities in Versailles, France, to celebrate two years of progress. The event brought together all the project partners from across Europe to assess achievements, align on upcoming milestones, and strengthen collaboration in the development of human-centric automated driving systems.

At the heart of the discussions was the Driver Behavioural Model (DBM), a key innovation of the BERTHA project. This model aims to enhance the understanding of driving processes and decision-making, paving the way for more intuitive and socially acceptable autonomous vehicles.

Over the two-day event, the consortium engaged in a dynamic programme that included:

  • A comprehensive review of the project’s work packages and technical progress.
  • Live demonstrations of driving simulators, a walking platform, and VEDECOM’s autonomous vehicle.
  • Interactive workshops fostering collaboration and alignment across partners.

This fifth in-person meeting not only highlighted the technical achievements of the past year but also set the stage for the next phase of development, including real-world validations and stakeholder engagement. With strong momentum and a shared vision, the BERTHA consortium continues to drive forward the future of connected, cooperative, and automated mobility in Europe.

As the project enters its third (and final) year, the consortium remains committed to shaping the future of CCAM in Europe.
