BERTHA Consortium Meets in CIDAUT facilities for In‑Person Steering Committee

The BERTHA consortium recently gathered in Spain for its in‑person Steering Committee and Project Management Board meeting (M30), hosted by CIDAUT at the Boecillo Technology Park, near Valladolid. This key face‑to‑face event brought together project partners to assess progress, align on the final project phase, and experience live demonstrations of BERTHA’s innovative driver behaviour technologies.

Strengthening collaboration in Horizon Europe CCAM research

Over two intensive days, representatives from academia, research organisations and industry came together to review the overall progress of the BERTHA project and align actions for its final phase. The discussions addressed technical advances across the project, coordination activities, and the next steps required to maximise impact in the field of Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM).

The in‑person format fostered cross‑disciplinary dialogue and closer collaboration between all the consortium partners, enabling more dynamic exchanges and a shared understanding of how BERTHA’s outcomes contribute to safer, smarter and more resilient transport systems in Europe.

Demonstrations in real‑world test environments

As part of the meeting programme, consortium members also visited dedicated test facilities, where live demonstrations illustrated how BERTHA technologies are being applied in realistic driving scenarios. These demonstrations offered valuable opportunities to observe system behaviour, exchange feedback, and reflect collectively on real‑world applicability.

Such on‑site activities are an essential complement to simulation‑based development, supporting BERTHA’s ambition to bridge scientific research and practical mobility solutions.

Looking ahead

As the BERTHA project enters its final phase, the M30 in‑person meeting marked an important milestone, reinforcing technical alignment, consortium cohesion, and readiness for final demonstrations and exploitation activities. Preparations are already underway for upcoming online management meetings and the project’s final event later in 2026.
